Living and Dying Well

*Participation in all three sessions is recommended, but not required*
- SESSION #1- Saturday March 28, 8:30am arrival / 9am-Noon seminar; Church of St. Anselm, 1028 Wayside Rd, Wayside, NJ
- Foundational Concepts: a general overview of foundational concepts regarding times of severe illness, disability and end-of-life, along with discussion about Catholic teaching & recent cultural shifts in attitudes toward severe illness/disability and toward death & dying.
- SESSION #2- Saturday April 18, 8:30am arrival / 9am-Noon seminar; Church of St. Luke,1674 Old Freehold Rd, Toms River, NJ
- Practical Considerations: a close look at practical considerations at times of severe illness/disability/end of life, including but not limited to: how to navigate challenging family dynamics, legal considerations, resources for support and planning, discussions of the ‘goods’ that can come from these difficult circumstances, and policy considerations to help Catholic families move through these times.
- SESSION #3, Sunday May 17, 2pm arrival / 2:30-5:30pm seminar; St. Anthony of Padua, 156 Maxwell Ave, Hightstown, NJ
- Medical Decision Making & Introduction to Catholic Bioethics: an overview of strategies for thinking about challenging care & medical decision making; including decision making structures offered by Catholic moral theology & a Catholic approach to bioethics, with some workshops reviewing some ‘hard cases’.
